How to install Hyper-V Management Tools


1. Open Powershell as Administrator

2. Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

3. Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Feature 'Microsoft-Hyper-V-All' -Online

4. Set-NetFireWall -DisplayGroup 'Remote Volume Management' -Enabled true -PassThru

5. winrm quickconfig

6. Set-Item -Path WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value ""

7. Open 'C:\windows\system32\dcomcnfg.exe' and allow 'anonymous login' for local and remote access. (right click on CR/CS/Computers/My Computer) COM Security / Edit Limit

-To get a full list of Hyper-V options that you can install, run the following command.

Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online | ? featurename -match 'Microsoft-Hyper-V*'

 

**Server Install

Install-WindowsFeature –Name Hyper-V -IncludeManagementTools -Restart 

Enable-NetFireWallRule -DisplayName “Windows Management Instrumentation (DCOM-In)”

Enable-NetFireWallRule -DisplayGroup “Remote Event Log Management”

Enable-NetFireWallRule -DisplayGroup “Remote Service Management”

Enable-NetFireWallRule -DisplayGroup “Remote Volume Management”

Enable-NetFireWallRule -DisplayGroup “Windows Firewall Remote Management”

Enable-NetFireWallRule -DisplayGroup “Remote Scheduled Tasks Management”

Get-NetFirewallProfile | Set-NetFirewallProfile -enabled false

 

New-VMSwitch -Name "External vSwitch" -NetAdapterName "Ethernet" -AllowManagementOS 1 -Notes "PowerShell example of External vSwitch creation"

New-VMSwitch -Name "Internal vSwitch" -SwitchType "Internal" -Notes "PowerShell example of Internal vSwitch creation"
